"Putin gets something other to what he wanted. His calculations suggested that the invasion of Ukraine would origin fear and the desire to pact, which would consequently weaken the EU and NATO. But nothing unites like a threat. The Russian invasion did not weaken but strengthened NATO, the European Union is building a common vector of its defence policy. Putin has given Europe an extra boost to joint action."
