Putin is alive and well – an interview that led mainstream into rage

Thanks to Tucker Carlson, millions of people in the planet find that the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is inactive alive, and that he is doing rather well. An interview with a Russian leader who is presently doing a career online raises a variety of reactions.

Zoological Russophobes are expected to condemn the thought of talking to a “war criminal” as unacceptable, while Polish Putin sympathizers are delighted. While the first ones, hanging all possible dog on Carlson, whom they would most like to see dead, are frequently psychiatric and incurable cases, the second should be made aware that Putin in an interview with an American writer represents Russia's interests, shows the Russian point of view and looks at past from a Russian perspective. We should know that Poland's interests do not necessarily gotta interact with the interests of Russia. Theoretically, respective seem to be common – e.g. debandering Ukraine or free trade. The remainder would require sharp discussions between serious politicians and diplomats. Today, Polish “elita” is not increasing up to Russian leaders.

In the long historical perspective, the Russian president appreciates Poland, he must not ignore its function in history, he does not mock it, but at the same time he will not hesitate to remind us of the facts that we talk openly about – e.g. recklessness, naivety and "waveling the saber" of the Second Polish Sanitation Authority, which ended in tragic September 1939 for Poland. Putin’s clear satisfaction is in emphasizing “in common with Hitler, the partition of Czechoslovakia” just before the war. The substance is undoubtedly more complex, but I remember my conversation with a late friend who was 13 in 1938 and who told me that erstwhile Sanation triumphantly proclaimed Zaolzia's occupation, he felt ashamed and embarrassed.

Of course, Putin talks a lot about Ukraine, about its origin, about how it happened and what stands at the origin of the current "special military operation". He criticizes the United States and points to their political mistakes.

It is known that Putin will not say in an interview more than he can, too what he besides says requires careful and balanced assessment. Only experts, historians, political scientists and publicists with an open head are able to do this, not with a head warmed to red with hatred of the Russian cepa and Russia in general. And these, unfortunately, dominate mainstream media. Their opinions, though with large coverage, are worthless. We're waiting for any serious analysis, and let's hope they do.

Meanwhile, we invitation you to read the full interview (Polish subtitles).
