Christmases and holidays in China in 2025

The State Council (chin. 国务院) announced a list of holidays in 2025 in connection with conventional and state holidays. The number of days off is given in brackets:

  • 元旦节 YuanDanJie, fresh Year – January 1, 2025 (1 day);
  • 春节 ChunJie, Chinese fresh Year – 28 January to 4 February 2025 (8 days);
  • 清明节 QingMingJie (the feast of the dead; the cleaning of graves) – from 4 to 6 April 2025 (3 days);
  • 劳动节 LaoDongJie (holy work, 1st May) – from 1 to 5 May 2025 (5 days);
  • 端午节 DuanWuJie (the feast of dragon boats) – from 31 May to 2 June 2025 (3 days);
  • 国庆节 GuoJingJie, National Day (rises of the People's Republic of China 1.10.1949);
  • 中秋节 ZhongQiuJie (holy full moon, mediate of autumn – 6.10) – 1 to 8 October 2025 (8 days);

Besides:

  • 妇女节 FuNuJie, Women's Day – March 8, 2025 (half day off for women);
  • 青年节 QingNianJie, Youth Day – May 4, 2025 (young people over the age of 14 are entitled to half a day off from school or work);
  • 儿童节 ErTongJie, Children's Day – 1 June 2025 (children and youth under the age of 14 have 1 day off from school activities);
  • 中国人民解放军建军纪念日 Anniversary of the creation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army – 1 August 2025 (military staff in active service has half a day off);
