The moods after Sunday? Bullshit! — tells us with disconcerting honesty 1 of Lublin’s local governments from the PSL. “Trzaskowski was not from my fairy tale, but I am 1 of those who voted for him. And for the sake of clarity — it is clear from the discussions with the party's colleagues that, contrary to the explanation promoted by the leaders about the mass support of our activists for the KO candidate, I was in a minority,” adds our interviewer.
— Although it seems to me that we have already voted more willingly in the second circular on Trzaskowski than in the first circular on Hołownia, the PSL activist from Małopolska admits.
“I did it for peace of mind”
It's about a poll that PSL did twice among its activists. They were asked to support the 2nd circular of presidential elections. The first 1 was to be carried out in February this year, and the second 1 just after the first round, in which the candidate of the 3rd Road scored only 4.99%.
— In both polls, nearly 80 percent of activists from the Polish PSL powerfully advocated supporting the candidacy of Rafał Trzaskowski in the second round. That does not mean that these 20% of the answers were "no", but "I don't know". Our party's leadership first sought advice among thousands of our activists and on this basis issued a recommendation,” said Onet Krzysztof Hetman, vice president of PSL.

Rafał Trzaskowski
The Ludovists argue that the organization pits went to the elections with Rafał Trzaskowski on their lips. Only individual cases supported Karol Nawrocki. Ultimately, it was the PiS candidate who won the election and he will live in the Presidential Palace for the next 5 years.
— Did you know that 5 years ago I had to take a image of my ballot card marked with a cross by the name of Rafał Trzaskowski? I did it for peace of head so that there would be no speculation. Then I showed them to anyone. Fortunately, I didn’t gotta take any photographs now, due to the fact that I would gotta figure it out,” says 1 of the local folk.
“He will not decision without Tusk”
In PSL, the situation is as follows: leaders are far more liberal than organization pits. That means Kosiniak-Kamish won't agree to the PiS coalition for anything in the world. Like his deputy Krzysztof Hetman and another executives.
The another side admits that. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki asked by Onet about the post-election scenarios with regret in his voice mentioned that if in 2023 the PSL had not refused to make a ruling coalition, present crucial matters for Poland would have moved forward, he would not have blocked them,” said Morawiecki, president Duda.
— We with the people realize each another well and local activists more and more on the way with us than with Tusk. We would like to talk to them in the context of the coalition for the 2027 elections, but as long as Kosiniak-Kamish is the leader, there is absolutely no chance. He reacts allergicly to us, enrolled in the alleged democratic camp, and he will not go anywhere without Tusk,” told us during the election evening of Karol Nawrocki 1 of the PiS politicians.
Activists to the right of the drill
And what is important, we hear akin voices from local PSL activists, who frequently have far more right-wing views than organization rowches. Similarly, voters — as besides demonstrated by the presidential elections in which the populace did not compete — were no longer so many.
In the municipalities and districts governed by the PSL, in both the first and second rounds Karol Nawrocki definitely won. Very frequently second and 3rd places were won by Sławomir Mentzen or Grzegorz Braun. An example of this is the municipality of Germany (the Lublin province), which has been in the hands of the mayor of PSL for years. There in the second circular Nawrocki scored over 63 percent. On Sunday, over 73 percent of the voters voted for a candidate for the Law and Justice Party. The Puławski territory ruled by the PO-PSL coalition besides Nawrocki — 62%.

Karol Nawrocki with his household
This should not surprise anyone — the east Wall (Podlasie, Lublin and Podkarpacie) has been voting for the Law and Law and for years. The vast majority of residents have conservative views. Similarly, folk activists who frequently gotta explain to their neighbors (and sometimes to the pleban) the actions of the current government.
“The Law and Justice will tempt us, as they always do, to enter the coalition. They have a solid bargaining chip in the form of another presidential term. And let me be honest with you, there are quite a few people here who would like this coalition. It's mostly downstairs, but there's besides 1 upstairs, like Mark Sawicki. With the Confederacy, too, we hear from 1 of the local politicians.
Marshal elder hits Prime Minister Tusk
Called here to the board of marshals-senior before the elections he hesitated a long time to support Rafał Trzaskowski. In the end, he urged not to vote for Karol Nawrocki. On the post-election Monday, erstwhile it turned out that candidate KO lost the election, he ruthlessly hit the head of government. — I believe that if Tusk wants a vote of assurance for the government, he should propose a constructive vote of distrust and change the Prime Minister — said Sawicki in an interview with a portal in Politics.
However, the end of the presidential run does not end the election period for the people. The organization is presently holding interior elections which will first be elected by regional authorities and then elected as organization president. According to our information, the current management will hold its current positions. If changes occur, they will be cosmetic.
— This situation will not have much impact on PSL. Vladek will inactive be president. There would should be any kind of disaster, like the failure of the hotel as a consequence of government reconstruction, but no 1 believes it. Rather, we will stay with Tusk, due to the fact that leaving the coalition would mean the failure of seats by our people,” said the Lublin PSL activist.
— It depends on what happens in the next fewer weeks. Whether we only have reconstruction or premature elections. And as the election, what consequence will the PSL get in them, due to the fact that let's make an agreement — Holownia's result, which is not a popularist, does not say anything about support for the PSL,” the activist from Małopolska points out. “Of course, if Rafał Trzaskowski had won, the position of PSL would have been better, but on the another hand, we are accused of being a brake on reforms, and presidential elections have shown that Poles like more conservative action than progressive ones,” says the populist.
Waiting for the leader out loud
But at the same time in the organization pits of the PSL feel the anticipation that the leader will rapidly talk about what happened in the presidential run and what direction the people will take (with Poland 2050 at their side or not) before the elections in 2027.
Since Sunday evening Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamish added only 2 entries on X.
On Sunday at 21.01 he wrote: “Congratulations Rafał Trzaskowski. We are waiting for confirmation of the victory, but we already see how crucial all vote is! Poles have set up a future, honesty and security!’
To write: “Elections are behind us. Congratulations to Charles Nawrock. Before all, the large task of rebuilding a community that must not be abandoned.
