Breakthrough in US Navy: billions for submarines

The Defence Logistics Agency ([Defense Logistics Agency Maritime Mechanicsburg](https://www.dla.mil/About-DLA/News/News-Article-View/Article/4199142/dla-fuels-maritime-superiority-with-5-bilion-contract/) granted six companies contracts worth a full of $5 billion. According to the agency's website, the challenge facing companies will be to “accelerate the formation of Virginia class submarines”. They are intended to replace the ageing fleet of L.A. ships.
