Germany is changing its approach to trade with China. Together with France, they request a more assertive trade policy of the European Union and they want to intensify this policy towards China - notes the Polish economical Institute (PIE) report. This is an crucial phrase, due to the fact that for years Berlin has defended the open marketplace utilizing access to the Chinese economy. The EU deficit in trade in goods with China in the first half of 2026 was 207 billion euro.
