Israel withdraws any of its forces from Gaza
Israel withdrew 36. Panzer Division from the Gaza Strip. Thus, 3 Israeli divisions remained in the Palestinian enclave. There is conflicting information on the reasons for the withdrawal of parts of the troops from the Gaza Strip. 1 of the popular theories is that it's a substance of force from Washington, who's been trying for weeks to get IDF to focus on precise attacks and avoid civilian casualties. But there is another theory. There have been rumors suggesting that the 36th Division will now be sent to the border with Lebanon or the West Bank. Last week, Herzi Halevi, Chief of Staff of the IDF, visited the exercises of Israeli reserveists in the north of the country. During his interview with the soldiers, he stated that he did not know if there would be a war with Hezbollah, but estimated that the hazard of her detonation was very high. Israel besides intensified the rally for Palestinian settlements on the occupied West Bank. Israelis fear that the prolonged conflict for the Gaza Strip will yet spill to the West Bank and another intifade will erupt here.
It seems that a peculiarly advanced hazard of escalation on the Israeli-Lebanese border (the indirect war already exists). Last week, Amos Hochstein, the envoy of president Biden, visited Beirut. He spoke with Prime Minister Mikati, among others, and proposed American mediations between Israel and Hezbollah to prevent the escalation and outbreak of a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah. any of the U.S. and arabian media characterized Hochstein's visit as a “last chance meeting” or “last warning”.
