Protests of farmers in Poland and Europe – what is the matter? Cereals from Ukraine and Vladimir Putin's war. Last Thursday, Polish police vs farmers clashed under the parliament. Only 2 days later, the strikers appeared at a gathering with Prime Minister Donald Tuski. Protests and blockades at the border with Ukraine have been going on for months and it does not look like they will end. So why are farmers on strike? Which Green Deal are they protesting against? In what quantities does grain from Ukraine actually go to Poland? Can the transport of this grain be effectively blocked by the Polish embargo?
