From a European perspective, we see Islam mainly through the prism of threats from Islamist terrorists, fighting the infidels and against democracy. Meanwhile, in the wider muslim world, the function of terrorists is almost marginal, democracy is amazingly well, and even the situation of the innoisseurs can be rather satisfactory.
