Professor Wojciech Roszkowski, a well-known historian and author of many textbooks, announced a suit against Barbara Nowacka. In a tweet that caused many emotions, he accused her of violating her good name, referring to her fresh appearances. The issue is linked to the removal from schools in rule of the fresh subject "History and the Present" (HiT), which creates controversy and divides public opinion.
Barbara Nowacka, during the Convention of the civilian Coalition in Warsaw, powerfully criticized the HiT textbook, co-authored by prof. Roszkowski. In her speech, she stated:
They introduced a fresh subject of past and the Present into schools. The lie was on all page of the textbook.
Such statements caused the professor's reaction, which he considered to be a violation of his technological work and individual dignity. As a result, he announced a claim for damages to be calculated for each page of his publication.
Criticism of the education strategy from Nowacka
Barbara Nowack's speech was not limited to HiT criticism. She focused on a broad-based improvement of education and allegations against the Government of the United Right. The Minister of Education stressed that her party's precedence was a long-term policy aimed at preparing a young generation for future challenges. Nowacka spoke about the request to make a strategy of education based on debate, cooperation and civic education. At the same time, she powerfully attacked the erstwhile power, stating, “They learned to lie and manipulate.”
The politician pointed out that the Government of Law and Justice neglected education, introducing textbooks and programs to schools that she felt were full of misinformation and falsification of history. She added that their goal is to rise a fresh generation of Poles conscious of their rights and obligations, ready to act for a democratic society.

Presentation of the lawsuit
Professor Roszkowski, author of the HiT textbook, did not stay indifferent to the accusations. His announcement of the suit suggests that he plans to defend his technological achievements and reputation before court. The amount of compensation he intends to make will be calculated for each page of his manual. This indicates the large importance it attaches to this conflict.
Our goal is to show that falsifying past cannot stay unanswered," said prof. Roszkowski in the media.
In consequence to Nowack's allegations, he defended his approach to past teaching, stressing that his textbooks are based on solid origin bases and aim to convey historical fact to the young generation.
