By the end of August, EU gas retention facilities were filled to the lowest degree (average 65%) for at least 15 years, little than in the evidence so far 2021, erstwhile the gas crisis in the EU began. The current state is due to the Gulf War that has been going on for six months. The persisting large constraints on the roadway of the Ormuz Strait fundamentally eliminated in fresh months the supply of LNG from Qatar to the global market. This results in price increases, including on stock exchanges in the EU to rates exceeding EUR 70/MWh on 1 September.
