Pro-life organisations call for: We defend the achievements in the area of life protection

With the appeal “In defence of the achievements of the free Republic in the protection of human life and women’s procreative health”, the representatives of Polish Federation of Life defence Movements addressed citizens and the Sejm and the Senate. Life defenders want to make matters These discuss based on facts and with the participation of the most prominent authorities in the fields of ethics, law, medicine or prenatal psychology.

"In defence of the achievements of the free Republic in the protection of human life and women's procreative health"

The Polish Federation of Life defence Movements convention in Warsaw on 2 March 2024 asks everyone to: reflect on the run to introduce abortion on request in Poland and legal projects related to this.

On 7 January this year, 31 years have passed since the adoption of the "Law on household Planning, Protection of the Human Fetal and Conditions of Admissibility of Abortion". Its affirmative solutions were sought out by generations of Poles, by a number of people who value the values that our Constitution emphasizes: “truth, justice, goodness and beauty” (...), which besides calls for “the preservation of the natural dignity of man, his right to freedom and the work of solidarity with others” ... (Preamble of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland). Consistent with this was the resolution of the legislature of Trade Union Delegates "NSZZ Solidarność" or immense demonstrations in defence of life in the 1990s and hundreds of thousands of letters addressed to the Sejm of Poland.

The laws introduced in 1993 resulted in a drastic decrease in abortion rates, and the number of spontaneous abortions and maternity deaths of women decreased. The simplification in abortion has contributed to improving women's health.

"On Safe Abortion" and "On Conscious Parenthood" projects aim at abortion on demand. The "On Conscious Parenthood" task rejects the multi-lateral assistance arrangements for pregnant women in hard life situations (social, legal, psychological) which is presently in place.

These proposals are made in violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, which stands defender against the protection of human life, which is simply a commitment of a democratic regulation of law. This was confirmed by the Constitutional Court chaired by prof. Andrzej Zoll decision 1997

Research conducted by the Centre for the investigation of Social Opinions (CBOS 2023 and 2024) shows that most Poles are opposed to abortion on request erstwhile "a female simply does not want to have a child".

There is so no basis for a extremist change in the laws if the protection of the procreative wellness of Poles and the protection of human life and wellness at the first prenatal phase of life are actually taken into account.

We address:

– all to halt imposing their views on specified a fundamental issue, but to discuss on the basis of facts, taking into account the highest level of protection of women's procreative health, respecting the prenatal period of human life;

– The Polish Parliament and legislature to organise a public debate/debate with the participation of the most prominent authorities in the fields of ethics, law, medicine, prenatal psychology, aimed at showing the importance of problems related to procreative wellness of Poles and respect for human life in all phase of its development.
