– It is not our agreement that Moscow should act without pardon towards us and another peoples of Europe by investigating our reactions, threatening our societies," said Karol Nawrocki in fresh York. The president attended the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He devoted much of his speech to the war in Ukraine and Russian aggression.
"I stand here for the first time as president of the Republic of Poland and I feel, of course, large pride for this reason, but at the same time I am aware of the serious challenges we face present as a national global community," Nawrocki said. He added that present state borders ceased to be untouchable, and global law began to be treated as a proposition alternatively than a rule.
– We are at a turning point in past – stated the president – Russian aggression on Ukraine is not a purely regional conflict. It is simply a test whether the rules on which the UN is based will last the test of time, or step down under the burden of imperial and colonial ambitions of a state that is considered above the law and that has repeatedly ignored the resolutions of the Assembly.
Therefore – according to the head of state – right now the community of democratic states must look at the situation as a battlefield for principles that can find the future of our civilisation. “I think this is the last minute for concrete action,” added Karol Nawrocki.
Poland will always react
Commander of the Armed Forces of Poland recalled on the breach of Polish airspace by Russian drones and provocations towards another NATO countries. "A twelve drones have deliberately breached my country's borders due to the fact that I assure you that this was not an accident, on orders given in the capital of the State which is simply a permanent associate of the safety Council. Consequently, Poland was forced to open fire on hostile objects over our territory for the first time since planet War II," he said.
The president besides sent a clear signal to the aggressors. “It is not our agreement that Moscow should act unparadoxedly towards us and another peoples of Europe by investigating our reactions, threatening our societies,” said Karol Nawrocki. “And I assure as head of the armed forces and the president of Poland that Poland will always respond appropriately and is ready to defend its territory,” he declared. He besides reminded that Poles faced Russian aggression many times, including. "defensing European civilization from russian hordes" in 1920.
War can't pay off an aggressor.
– It should be our work to hold Russia accountable. The perpetrators of all global crimes must be tried before the competent courts," said Karol Nawrocki. The president besides referred to the Kremlin's declaration of willingness to negociate towards the end of the war in Ukraine. "The current actions of Russia do not indicate readiness for real peace. Declarations of dialog are accompanied by military offensives, attacks on Ukrainian cities whose victims are civilians, including children," he said.
The president besides referred to the possibilities of the planet to influence Russia. "No wars can pay off aggressors, besides in economical terms," he said.
Charles Nawrocki besides recalled the words of Holocaust survivor Eli Wiesel: “neutrality always helps the perpetrator, never the victim. Silence encourages a stalker, never persecuted." – Let these words be not only a warning, but besides a call to action. To act here and now! – said Karol Nawrocki.
