President Karol Nawrocki, after consulting the Chapter of the Order of the Order of the White Eagle, decided to take the highest Polish discrimination of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensk. The reason for the request for return was the consent of the Ukrainian president to give the name of the “UPA heroes” to 1 of the units of the armed forces. The Ukrainian Pows dancing Army (UPA) is judged by Poles very negatively, as during planet War II the crimes of genocide in Volyn were committed by thousands of our countrymen. Ukrainians view it differently, claiming it was a consequence of armed conflict. And this organization was anti-Soviet, not anti-Polish.

Volodymyr Zelenski returned the award. At the same time, he ensured that Ukraine would stay open to cooperation with our country to "avoid contradictory interpretations of the hard and painful chapters of our common past and to guarantee due respect for all the innocent victims of the 20th century." At the same time, he stressed that he was arrogant of any Ukrainian soldier who resisted Russian aggression.
