President Karol Nawrocki signed under the budget bill for the current year. At the same time, he referred the acts to the Constitutional Court.

"I sign the budget – to defend the stableness of the state – and direct it to the Constitutional Court – to defend the future of Poland. I sign due to the fact that the deficiency of a budget would not solve any of the problems we face. This would, on the another hand, be a hazard to the stableness and predictability of state affairs," said Karol Nawrocki in the video provided by the NRP on the X portal.

As the president explained, he does not want the deficiency of a signature under the budget to “become an alibi for government inaction”.

The budget bill for this year assumes that state spending will amount to PLN 918.9 billion, and the budget deficit will be no higher than PLN 271.7 billion. The gross of the state budget is planned for PLN 647.2 billion. VAT revenues are expected to amount to PLN 341.5 billion, PLN 103.3 billion, the budget is expected to receive from excise duty, PLN 80.4 billion from corp taxation (CIT) and PLN 32 billion from individual income taxation (PIT).

According to the Act, the ratio of government debt to GDP will be 53.8%, remaining below the prudential threshold of 55% laid down in the Public Finance Act.

This year's budget plans expenditure on national defence, exceeding PLN 200 billion, corresponding to 4.81% of GDP. This appropriation is intended to cover the modernisation of the army and the support of the safety system. wellness protection is expected to scope PLN 247,8 billion, which represents 6.81% of GDP, and investment in medical infrastructure and human resources is to be a precedence for the government. Road and railway expenditure will amount to PLN 53.9 billion, including PLN 20.1 billion from the state budget.
