Andrzej Duda's speech took place on Tuesday 21 January during the inauguration of the home of Ukraine in Davos. The president of Poland emphasized his sadness about the ongoing war behind the east border of our country. He stated that everyone wanted to halt the Ukrainian tragedy.
Duda in Davos: This war cannot end no substance how
– It is precisely due to the fact that we all represent the interests of our countries, and surely in our general interest that we should never let aggression on our countries. This war cannot end in any way. And that is why I will tell you 1 thing, from the point of view of my country of Poland, as I see her business, it is apparent that this war cannot end with the triumph of Russia," he said.
– It cannot end with the aggressor's victory, it cannot end with the triumph of the 1 who assaulted, it cannot end with the triumph of the 1 who fulfills his imperial ambitions. He must neglect – added Andrzej Duda. As he added, it would be a failure to end this ambition.
Duda: Russia's defeat is sovereign Ukraine
– For me, this will mean the existence and reconstruction of independent, sovereign Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. And I believe profoundly that you think the same way. And you pay a terrible price for it," he said. He stressed that "those who are honest and want order and peace in the planet must aid Ukraine to accomplish this".
– We're here as your neighbors and friends to say that we're with you and we won't leave you. And regardless of the different winds, I, acting in the interests of my country of Poland, have been saying this all the time for 3 years – he emphasized.
– We will not leave you and we will do anything to guarantee that independent, sovereign Ukraine continues and is part of the free world. May God defend Poland, May God defend Ukraine – said Andrzej Duda.
