Qatar will invest in Lebanese gas
Qatar Energy joined a consortium to deal with gas extraction in Lebanon. Qataris took 30% of the consortium's shares. Apart from them, the consortium consists of: French full and Italian Eni (both companies have 35% shares each). Qatar Energy took the place of Russian Novateku, who withdrew from the task in 2022.
It's the gas at the bottom of the Mediterranean. Its extraction is possible by concluding a demarcation agreement between Lebanon and Israel last year.
