It was genocide due to the fact that an crucial part of the Polish elite was deliberately murdered. They were people with higher education. It was Polish intelligence. They were brutally murdered. They wanted to wipe them from life and from memory. They were able to execution them, but they never managed to teardrop from the memory of their loved ones and from the memory of our nation and their extraordinary heroic attitude. That they did not break, that they did not cooperate, that they remained arrogant Poles and patriots until the end, until the last minute of their lives. present is the 85th anniversary of that terrible execution on our countrymen. present we talk openly about historical truth. On 5 March 1940, the russian Political Office of KC WKP(b) decided to shoot Polish prisoners in camps in Kozielsk, Starobielsk and Ostashkov and Polish prisoners held by the NKVD in the area of pre-war east provinces of the Republic and besides in Kiev. The consequence of this decision was the Katyń Crime, which resulted in the execution of about 22 1000 Polish citizens, including almost 15 1000 officers of the Polish Army and the State Police.
