Prime Minister at MSPO 2023 in Kielce: fresh Crabs will shortly be produced in Gliwice, Silesia, Bumar-Łabada

Polish military safety is the most crucial for us. In the face of Russia's violent actions, only a strong army will let us to deter a possible aggressor. Therefore, we strengthen the Polish military and make the national defence industry. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the global Defence manufacture Salon (MSPO) in Kielce. This is the 3rd biggest event of this kind in Europe, with more than 700 exhibitors from around the world. During the MSPO, the head of government signed a letter of intent that provides for the launch of a fresh production line of cannonohaubic “Krab” in Gliwice. Since 2015 Poland has been carrying out extended expansion of the army – we buy fresh equipment, including tanks and aircraft, as well as recruiting soldiers and creating additional military units in the east of the country.

According to a social opinion survey of 2023, Poles feel safe in their country. This is due, among others, to the large investments in safety that the government has undertaken. We make and modernize the military by expanding the number of soldiers and buying the latest equipment. A strong army is simply a warrant of our safety.

Since the beginning of 2022, we have managed to finalise many contracts for the transportation of military equipment. We are betting on equipment manufactured by Polish reinforcing plants, but we besides scope for solutions offered by abroad manufacturers. The most fresh acquisition of the Polish army will be the American Apache helicopters. Poland will acquisition as many as 96 specified machines with combat equipment.

– In addition to global purchases – from which we are satisfied, the Boones strengthen us in an accelerated way – we want to build our interior production capacity and manufacturing power, the technological capacity to produce weapons in Poland – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

We are developing Polish defence industry

At the same time, we invest in the Polish arms industry, which is the main supplier of equipment for our army, but besides exporter of Polish technological thought. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki signed in Kielce a letter of intent with the Polish Armed Forces Group for an additional investment in the Gliwice plant Bumar-Łabada.

– The Government of the Republic of Poland allocates PLN 850 million to Bumar-Łabada in Gliwice. This money will let the fresh production halls to be equipped – so that as shortly as we can organize the technical, technological process – about 50 Crabs were produced in Bumar-Łabada.

The expansion of the plant will let the launch of a fresh production line of cannonhaubic ‘Krab’, which is so far produced in Huta Stalowa Wola. This is another step in the government's cooperation with the Polish armed forces. We support the dynamic improvement of the defence sector so that modern equipment can be utilized as rapidly as possible to equip our soldiers.

International Defence manufacture Exhibition in Kielce

The MSPO 2023 fair in Kielce runs from 5 to 8 September 2023. It is the 31st edition of this event, which attracts the biggest companies from all over the planet – over 700 exhibitors presented their offer and technologies this year.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the Kielce exhibition of arms producers – among them many Polish companies specified as FB Radom, Huta Stalowa Wola or Jelcz Sp. z o.o. abroad guests were besides present at the fair. The head of government met with representatives of Lockheed Martin – the F-35 supplies for Poland were discussed, as well as possible production of Javelin missiles in our country.

– How can we open fresh production halls today? The origin of this improvement is 1 thing – it is the repair of public finances, which allowed us to spend and allocate immense funds to the Polish army – the head of the government pointed out.

In 2023 this is over 3% of GDP, and in 2024 we planned 4.2% of GDP. In total, in the method Modernization Plan for the years 2021-2035, we want to allocate PLN 524 billion for fresh weapons and equipment for soldiers.This is over 12 times the yearly expenses for household 500+.
