Decision in the Polish Monitor

The order of Prime Minister Donald Tusk provides for the liquidation of the Commission for the examination of Russian and Belarusian influences on interior safety and the interests of Poland between 2004 and 2024. The president and the Registrar shall have until 30 September to carry out all the formalities relating to the termination of his activities.

At the same time, the paper revokes the earlier order of 21 May 2024 under which the committee was appointed. It served as an advisory function for the Prime Minister and, in addition to the Chairman, included 11 experts designated by the Head of Government and ministers liable for matters relating to State security.

The commission was set up on 21 May 2024, and its president was General Jarosław Stróżyk, Head of Military Counterintelligence Service.

Two reports

The Russian Influence survey Commission presented its first study on 30 October 2024. The president of the committee stressed that the Polish peculiar services, especially counterintelligence, have been weakened in the 20 years analysed. He pointed out, among others, the liquidation of the ABW delegations and the removal of the alleged reserved collection of the Institute of National Memory. Following the findings, the committee sent a announcement to the D.A. regarding the anticipation of Antoni Macierewicz committing diplomatic treason.

The second study was published on 10 January this year and focused on the period since the beginning of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, erstwhile disinformation activities intensified. The paper indicated that in fresh years Poland has taken insufficient action to counter Russian and Belarusian disinformation operations.

In April, the head of the commission, and at the same time head of the Military Counterintelligence Service, General Jarosław Sróżyk, informed of the transmission of the 3rd study to Prime Minister Donald Tusk. This paper was besides delivered to six ministers whose ministries delegated representatives for the committee's work.

Cenckiewicz's comment

The full situation was commented by the future head of the National safety Bureau Sławomir Cenckiewicz. The Prime Minister's actions were described as disgrace.

You just don't tell anyone! On the first anniversary of the Guardian's effort to destruct my life, the Prime Minister
Donald Tusk has liquidated his commission... and the company has spread! Money burned out – millions! They made quite a few money – it's a fact! They didn't agree – it's clear! The study in March was not announced – we know! They compromised the survey of Russian influence – that's for sure! There were expected to be loops tightening around the neck, a horde of Russian agents on the right, and a squad of prosecutors... and there was zero! A compromise that must not be forgotten! Or any name from this Commission! – Cenckiewicz wrote on his profile on the X portal.
