On Thursday, Tusk met with soldiers of the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade of the 18th Mechanized Division. “We know that in our Polish mouth the word “winner” of 1945 has a bitter taste. We remember the drama of planet War II. We inactive have the trauma of September's defeat and of this ambiguable triumph from 80 years ago," he said. "We meet here today, in the presence of more than 2,000 Polish soldiers, not to mention again with concern, with the bitterness of that time of the lost war and unusual victories which did not give us independence, did not bring Poland the full happiness which should bring about the end of the war. We are here present to show present proud, efficient, strong, determined soldiers," he pointed out.
