Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Tuesday that there were false reports that a gathering in the E4 or E5 format was to be held in Oslo and that the largest European countries – including Poland – would prepare peace talks.
On Monday, Reuters reported that U.S. president Donald Trump's peculiar envoy, Steve Witkoff, is expected to go to Norway this week for another circular of negotiations on the end of the war in Ukraine, adding that Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenski, representatives of the E4 countries of Poland, and the EU and NATO are to attend the meeting.
Prime Minister Tusk told before the government gathering that the information that the E4 or E5 format was to be held there, and that the largest European countries, including Poland, would prepare peace talks, was not true.
Format E4 consists of United Kingdom, France, Germany and Poland and E5 – France, Germany, United Kingdom, Poland
and Italy.
– This is simply a misunderstanding. Mr. Witkoff meets in Oslo, online you will be (Jared) Kushner – so negotiators, if you can say, from the American side, who will besides go to Moscow, and will besides meet (in Oslo) with president Zelenski
and his team. And the host of this gathering is the Prime Minister of Norway, accompanied by the president of Finland," said the Prime Minister.
