Security of our borders
Not long ago, any doubted the rightness of creating peculiar Border defender units. The events of fresh years have confirmed the correct course chosen by the government – it would not be possible to defend our borders without efficient and well-trained officers.
– We know very well that only this country that can defend its borders can be truly sovereign. We had this evidence and we experienced it in a very brutal way already in the autumn of 2021, erstwhile Lukashenko and Putin, preparing for this war in Ukraine, attacked through artificially imported groups of migrants the Polish border in the east: the Polish-Belarusian border – the Prime Minister pointed out.
Strengthening the Border Guard
We invest effectively in the improvement of services – including Border Guards. As part of the programme of modernization of services from 2022 to 2025, we will allocate over PLN 10 billion to the improvement of the Police, Border Guard, State Fire Service and State Protection Service. It is money for investment in human capital as well as for the acquisition of fresh equipment, equipment and construction investments.
Border defender will receive over PLN 1.4 billion, including construction or expansion of facilities that support the protection of the Polish border and the acquisition of cars or reconnaissance aircraft. These are the resources we invest in our security.
Officer professionalism
The Prime Minister stressed the professionalism of the services and the essence of the appropriate equipment that officers can use. He pointed out that people are key – decently trained and prepared, among others, in centres specified as Lubań.
– I was told present about drones that are being used, about training dogs, which on the border later besides execute their service, about various kinds of specialized equipment, but above all about people. About the people who are the basis for the safety of our borders, the Prime Minister emphasized. – I would like to thank all the Border defender officers very much for your excellent and dedicated, very professional service.
