On 9-10 February, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki attended an extraordinary gathering of the European Council. The guest of the summit was president Volodymyr Zelenski of Ukraine. Security of Europe
Ukraine has been struggling with Russian aggression for almost a year. State leaders discussed Ukraine's integration into the European Union. They besides discussed European financial and military cooperation for the fighting Ukraine. Ukraine's safety is the safety of Europe as a whole.

Migration policy
In the face of an increased number of illegal migration, protecting the external borders of the European Union is simply a priority. Leaders referred, among others, to further cooperation on border control, combating smuggling of persons and better exchange of information on migration flows.
"We were able to make an additional provision. The record, which says that the countries that are best placed to assist Ukraine, the Ukrainians, should receive more and more flexible assistance from the European Commission, the European Union," said the Prime Minister. He besides added "We will, on the basis of this record, receive further funds from the European Union to aid refugees".
As Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasized, the most desirable form of support for Poland would be investment of the Union in modern equipment and infrastructure at the border, including physical barriers. Borders should be strengthened and sealed, due to the fact that the sovereignty of EU associate States cannot be jeopardised.
"Today the European Union, the European Council acknowledges that physical barriers, physical protection, physical barriers are very much needed," stressed the head of government.
