Fr Antonio Guido Filipazi, the Apostolic Nuncio in Poland, will preside over the central procession of the city of Poznań for the celebration of the Blessed Body and Blood of Christ.
The celebrations will begin in 1 of the oldest shrines of God's Body in Poland.
The central Eucharistic procession of the city of Poznań will depart from the church of the Divine Body on 4 June after Mass led by Fr Antonio Guido Filipazzi. The Eucharist will be concelebrated by Fr. Archbishop Zbigniew Zieliński, auxiliary bishops and elder priests and neo-presbyters.
"The Sanctuary of God's Body in Poznań was 1 of the most crucial pilgrimage sites in Poland connected with the Eucharist. Here, among others, King Władysław Jagiełło, whose gift is simply a towering monstrancy, recognized by art historians as the oldest liturgical vessel of this kind stored in Poland. The past of the temple dates back to 1399," says Fr Maciej Szczepaniak, spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Poznań.
