Aunt Marianna Piotrowska (de of Pieńkowska's house) I met as a parol erstwhile my father and I went to her for the harvest in Liniewa (Kościerzyna region), where their uncles had their economy. After that, my aunt always distinguished me from my siblings, frequently saying:

- I'm sorry. You are the most akin to Frank's holy memory (my father).

In pre-war Poland, my father was the only 1 her brother already, due to the fact that in America in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she had 2 more.

But I'm going back to the drama. erstwhile I stood on the platform in the Group, I got scared! Until the village of Monk, as long as I can remember, we were always surrounded by old pine forests - part of Tucholskie Borów. Now I got frightened - so they were destroyed and devastated, terribly devastated by war! Today*) fortunately, these wounds have suffocated, and pines are buzzing here as before.

By the way: just after passing the last front in 1945 in the forests of my monk (in the alleged Kisach) the precise place of mass graves murdered in nearly six years of business of more than 10 1000 Poles from all over Pomerania was discovered: among them were priests, teachers, intelligence working, gendarmerie, residents of shelters, intellectual infirmary patients, criminal prisoners along with their keys and all service, Polish police, administration, social and political activists - elderly, women, men and children. There were, of course, Jews shot down over occupied Polish airmen from England...

As it was said, I've been here a lot, and I thought I could go to my aunt's with my eyes closed! I was now wiping them in complete shock and spitting with irritation - nothing helped: the old landmarks disappeared - everything changed its face! The most beautiful old trees, flag pines, shrubs of the yoke, white birches crying and another features of the scenery - all disappeared! I had to quit going, like always before, on a shift to stick to the road.
