Post-election earthquake in Romania

On May 18, the leader of the alt-right Alliance for Romanians' Unity (AUR), George Simion, a self-described Trumpist, will face the liberal mayor of Bucharest, Nicușor Dan, in the second circular of the repeated presidential elections. The ruling camp suffered a defeat, which prompted the resignation of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
