W Portugal has fewer 100 1000 students present had no lessons due to a pay strike against the administrative staff of primary, secondary and secondary schools.
According to Ana Sequenira of SINAPE's management, a syndicate of educational workers organising a protest, the percent of school staff participating in the strike “is larger than originally expected”.
– Even before noon, over 80% of schools across the country joined the protest. We anticipate this number to increase during the day," said Sequeira, adding that "it has reached the national paralysis of Portuguese education."
