Polish warrior- Marek Piotrowski

‘Marek Piotrowski (born 14 August 1964 in Dębe Wielki close Minsk Mazowiecki) — Polish kick-boxer and boxer, professional planet champion. An amateur career — his sports career began as a very young adept jujutsu, with time he became curious in Karate Kyokushin. He won the Polish Junior Championship in 1984. In 1985, he repeated this success in the elder category. In karate he fought 13 authoritative duels, all won. In July 1993, he became the holder of a black belt (1 dan). At the beginning of 1987, he began to do kick-boxing in a full contact formula, even though the discipline was prohibited in Poland at the time. On October 11, 1987, he won an amateur planet championship in the weight category up to 81 kg in Munich. He besides won the Polish Championship the same year, and in Hungary the planet Cup, becoming the best player of the tournament. Professional career — in 1988 he decided to go to the United States to start his professional career. He fought his first fight in October. In Rockford he knocked out Bob Handegan in the 4th round. On 19 August 1989, in his 5th fight behind the Ocean, he unanimously won the points of previously undefeated Rick "The Jet" Roufus and won the professional championship of the United States PKC organization. The ringing name of Punisher was besides attached to his name. On November 4, 1989, in Chicago, he defeated Don ‘The Dragon’ Wilson and became the professional planet champion of ISKA, PKC and FFKA organizations. By 1991, he had six duels, beating among others Bob “The Thunder” Thurman and renowned Mark Longo. Until then, he was an undefeated player in the professional ring, with a balance sheet of 29-0-0 (19 KO). On 22 June 1991, despite individual problems, he fought a rematch duel with Rick Roufus, who lost in the second circular by knockout. After this defeat, he began his professional boxing career in February, winning his first fight before time in the 4th round. Then by 1992, wanting to regain the lost MW title, he fought respective kickboxing fights, all winning. In July 1992, he won the North American champion title by winning with Canadian Conrad Pla. 22 of the letter of 1992 faced multiple Dutch champion Rob Kaman (also called "Mr. Low-Kick"; 98 battles won, 78 KO.) in the low-kick formula. He lost by TKO in the seventh circular after an highly dramatic fight. After this defeat, he one more time fought for lost titles. For the following years, he sought a chance to rematch with Kaman and Roufus, but never got it. He defeated in Montreal on 22 June 1993 by TKO Michael McDonald. In the same year, he won Mike Winklejohn, winning the Iska planet Champion title in oriental rules (a low-kick variety and knee stroke). In December 1995, he made his final kickboxing run. In Krakow he defeated Italian Stefano Tomiazzo, winning the WKA planet Champion belt and unifying all planet titles in full-contact. He thus became the holder of all the most crucial master belts: ISKA, KICK, PKC, WAKO-PRO, FFKA, WKA and TBC. In parallel with the kickboxing starts, Piotrowski continued his career as a professional boxer, with a full of 21 duels in heavyweight from 1992 to 1996. He won them all. He finished his professional career on 13 December 1996 in Hannover with a boxing fight. In 1997, he was offered a fight for the professional planet championship in boxing of IBF organization with Reggie Johnson, but due to wellness problems he had to resign. In 2002, he returned to Poland. Awards In 1987 he was awarded the "Sirenki" award from monthly athlete for the biggest sports surprise of the year. 3 times elected to the top 10 of the top athletes in Poland in the athletics Review plebiscite (1987, 1989, 1990), taking 2nd position. The prestigious Fighter magazine classifying the largest kickboxers of the 1980s, placed Piotrowski in the weight of up to 172 pounds (i.e. 78 kg) in second place. Twice, in 1989 and 1994 he was recognized by American kickboxer professionals of the year. He was besides selected by the American press to be 1 of the 2 best fighters of the 1990s. In 1991, Aleksander Bilik published a book Kickboxer, describing Piotrowski's career until 1990. In 2005, TVN24 made a study on Mark Piotrowski entitled “Warrior” In 2005, even a comic book titled Kickbokser (located in the addition to the Wyborcza Newspaper) was created about it. 2006 — Marek Piotrowski received a Stanley Honorary statue — KICK BOXING”
