Poland resigned almost 20 years ago from participating in the Joint Strike Fighter program, despite the fact that it was proposed and plans to acquisition 64 of these aircraft (for 32 Su-22 and 32 MiGi-29). Today, after buying 32 copies, we may regret not taking this step. It would lead to the location in the Polish manufacture of the competence to manufacture certain components for this aircraft. At the same time, it must be remembered that our country did not have resources comparable to the opportunities that be now. At that time, the political climate, together with the dividend of peace and investment in the improvement of the economy, placed defence far at the end of Polish priorities.
