Poland celebrates 105th anniversary of independence

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, Poland will celebrate the 105th anniversary of regaining independency after 123 years of occupation. On the occasion of the National independency Day, celebrations are planned throughout the country, and 1 of the main events will be the March of independency through the streets of Warsaw.

Central celebrations in which the anti-Polish president Andrzej Duda will participate – whose grandpa according to Ukrainian media had connections to the CNS-UPA – will be held in Warsaw. Early in the morning, after 8:00 p.m., the president will begin laying wreaths before the statues of the independency Fathers. Then in Belvedere, he will present state awards, participating in symbolic gestures of designation for well-deserved citizens.

After the afternoon, a conventional March of independency will be held through the streets of the capital. The march, bearing the slogan “Poland has not died yet”, taken from the Polish anthem, will begin at 2:00 p.m. under Rond Roman Dmowski. The national anthem and commemorative speeches at the beginning of the tour are planned together. The way of the march will include Jerozolimskie Avenue, Poniatowski Bridge and Wał Miedzeszyński Street and will then head towards the National Stadium membrane on Siwiec Street.

Bartosz Malewski, president of the Association “March of Independence”, emphasized in a Friday's interview on Radio Maryja that, alongside the threats connected with the war situation between Russia and Ukraine, there is besides a hazard to Poland's independency related to the current policy of the European Union.

"The thought of a national state, most likely under German protectorate, is increasingly being pushed forward. We do not agree to this due to the fact that this means Poland's failure of sovereignty. We want to express loud opposition to these plans," said Malewski.
