1. What has been the success of the Polish Presidency in the EU Council?
The most crucial accomplishment of the Polish Presidency was the effective introduction of a change in the paradigm of reasoning and action in the area of safety of the European Union (EU), accompanied by the construction of fresh infrastructure for financing defence spending. This paradigm has changed and continues to change on respective levels. The first is the military independency of Europe, including the EU, from the US, well illustrated by Donald Tusk's message that it is simply a paradox for 500 million Europeans to ask 300 million Americans to defend them from 140 million Russians. Although respective circumstances influenced this change of thinking, including the U.S. turn towards Ukraine – the Polish Presidency acted in this geopolitical context in a multifaceted way, acting as a catalyst for change.
