Russian drones breached Poland's airspace on Tuesday night for Wednesday. The rulers then turned to our neighbour for help. The request has been accepted. Soldiers and machines will arrive in Poland.


On the night of Tuesday for Wednesday, during the massive attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine, Polish airspace was breached respective times by Russian drones. At the command of the Operational Commander of the RSZ, defensive procedures were launched. Those objects were shot down, which were considered the most dangerous.

Soldiers and helicopters will arrive in Poland


According to PAP, quoted by Virtual Poland, the Czech Republic responded to the Polish request for support. 3 Mi-171Sz helicopters from the peculiar Operations Unit and a group of soldiers will be sent to our country. Their task will be to strengthen the protection of the Polish space against small-scale drones.

The mission is to last up to 3 months, and the number of soldiers will not exceed 150. The dispatch of Czech soldiers requires the formal approval of the parliament, this operation will be conducted on the basis of a mandate in force since 2024, which allows the deployment of up to 2,000 soldiers to strengthen the defence of the east flank of NATO.

Jana Chernochov, Minister of Defence in the Czech Republic, pointed out that Poland remains a close ally. In turn, a fast reaction must be a show of unity for Putin.

Not just the Czech Republic


Sweden besides announced support for Poland. According to defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish on TVN24, his Swedish counterpart declared to urgently send anti-aircraft defence and aircraft.

I have just received information from the Minister of Defence of Sweden about the urgent sending of another support to Poland, including anti-aircraft defence and aircraft. We are in contact with our counterparts – said Deputy Prime Minister on TVN24.

The head of the MON added that the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Finland expressed their willingness to support Poland.

Let us remind that in consequence to fresh events and in connection with the launch of ground search and rescue teams, a alert of readiness was introduced for soldiers of the Territorial Defence Army.
