Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Stockholm. The Heads of Government discussed primarily safety and further support for Ukraine. Sweden and Finland applied in 2022 to join NATO – immediately after Russian aggression against Ukraine. Poland clearly supports the extension of the Alliance to Scandinavian states – this means a stronger east flank of NATO and thus greater safety for our country. During the gathering with the Prime Minister of Sweden, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki besides stressed that Polish-Swedish cooperation is simply a large chance to further make our region, among others, thanks to joint investments in infrastructure.

Russia's unlawful and violent attack on Ukraine has brought war, fear and crisis to Europe. Europe, however, is at the heart of the challenge. We face the challenge and in the face of Russian imperialism we have united even more. Today, almost all European countries talk with 1 voice: we must guarantee Europe's security. For many years, Poland has stressed that the east flank of NATO is the most crucial region for the safety of the continent. We were right today.

– Poland is ready to take on the function of leader on the east flank, but we request strong allies in the south and in the north. This is, on the 1 hand, strengthening our potential, and besides a strong message to Russia: you will not be able to break Europe into pieces – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

No improvement without safety

Poland favours the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO – preferably simultaneously. Russia, erstwhile attacking Ukraine, advocated the past, Europe must advocate the future. The improvement of NATO's defence possible is the most crucial possible for the close future, and the acquisition of fresh allies in the north of Europe is simply a very beneficial decision – both for Sweden but above all for Poland.

– The line moving from Stockholm through Warsaw to Kiev is present a line of opposition against Russia. It's a line of freedom. present this could be a line of improvement for the fresh region. After 1989 there was 1 regulation in the planet – there is no improvement without globalisation. Now this regulation should change – there is no improvement without safety – stressed the head of the Polish government.

Polish-Swedish relations are cooperation with the future

Today is simply a breakthrough for geopolitics – fresh cooperation axes are being built in the world. present we compose fresh scenarios on which we will base our future. Polish-Swedish relations include a common view of improvement around the Baltic Sea and strategical independence. We support together all these projects, which are designed to strengthen the independency of the full European Union and our economy.

– Infrastructure connections, roads, telecommunications, railways and northern-south energy infrastructure are the future foundations for Europe's development. Today, Sweden and Poland lie in an area where civilizations collide, but I believe that sooner or later we will shift the footbridge between the old and fresh Europe, as well as between Ukraine, Moldova and another countries – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
