I think everything has been said about the reasons for this. The problem is, that nothing practically results from this cognition – attendance does not increase. Politicians, people of science, publicists wonder how to encourage undecided, resistant compatriots to participate in the Euro elections! 1 method is compulsory vote.
In Belgium, Cyprus, all citizen, if he does not supply a credible justification, must take part in the elections. This is impossible in Poland. The warrants don't work. We are a rebellious nation! We mostly hatred it erstwhile we are forced to do something – how we are restricted to freedom. But there is another – simpler and better – way to increase attendance.
All you gotta do is endure election silence! There are countries – the United States, Germany – where this moronic order is not applicable and nothing incorrect with it. There is nothing abnormal about it, that the run is besides taking place on election day, that the current, polling results are made public during the vote. I believe that the abolition of electoral silence in Poland would importantly influence the increase in attendance. Giving partial results would mobilise to a large degree those who decided in advance that their favorites would prevail, without their votes, due to the fact that with a large advantage they conducted in pre-election polls! If they were able to track the results on an ongoing basis, they would see whether they were actually doing so.
But don't you gotta go and vote due to the fact that the situation doesn't look as pink as it seemed before! Not only a program, a good campaign, is needed to win the election, but it besides requires the ability to encourage, mobilise the fluctuating countrymen! The fight to the end, by all vote, to the bank would consequence in increased traffic in polling stations! It is time to change electoral ordination and give people the chance to run until the last minute.
