Polish soldiers to Ukraine? Poles responded in the poll

Should Polish soldiers participate in a peace mission in Ukraine after the end of the war in this country? On Saturday, the latest poll appeared in the media, asking the public. From the survey we learn that most Poles are against sending the Polish Army behind our east border.

“If there were peacekeepers in Ukraine, should Polish soldiers be part of them?” asked the Poles at SW Research. The majority – 61.1% of respondents – are opposed to sending troops to Ukraine. On the another hand, 17.3% of the respondents are in favour of participating in the peace mission. 21.6 percent of Poles do not know or have no opinion on this issue.

The percent of supporters and opponents varied naturally in different survey groups – including by women and men. The biggest opposition was expressed by men whose 63.9% were opposed to sending the Polish army to Ukraine as part of the peacekeeping forces. The majority of women are of a akin opinion, but somewhat lower percent than men – 58.7 percent. On the another hand, 18.9% of men and 15.8% of women are in favour of sending the Polish army across the east border. 17.1% of men and 25.5% of women answered "I don't know".

The biggest supporters of sending the Polish army to Ukraine are people with primary vocational education (27% for), and the biggest opponents – residents of cities up to 20,000 inhabitants (69.9%) “against”).

The SW Reases survey was conducted among 800 net users over the age of 18, users of SW Panel online panel on 19-20 August 2025.
