In south-eastern Belarus, in the area of the Polish State Radiological and Environmental Reserve, there was a fire that raised serious concerns about radiological safety in the region. This area, which is part of the alleged Chernobyl restricted zone, is heavy contaminated after the Chernobyl atomic disaster in 1986.
