There was a tragic accident in the Slovak Tatras. According to local rescue services, the Polish tourist fell from a tallness of about 100 meters. The life of a 32-year-old failed.
Rescuers Horsky Zachranna Service received a notification on 12 September on Friday. 2 Slovaks aged 21 and 41 were stuck in the Klimkowa Pass area. In the fog and dense rain, they lost their orientation and were incapable to get off the way alone. During the preparation for the rescue, a second application from the same couple arrived - concerning 32-year-olds from Poland.

The Slovaks witnessed the fall of a female from a tallness About 100 meters. Polka did not respond to attempts to make contact, and due to the weather conditions it was impossible to go down. Due to the weather, rescuers were besides in difficulty and could not usage any of the equipment. They utilized climbing ropes for the action.
First, a 48-year-old girl was rescued who was climbing with a 32-year-old, and after her fall she was incapable to proceed to descend on her own strength. Then 2 Slovaks. All 3 of them, utilizing short line insurance, went through the exposed ridges to Lomnica, where they spent the night in the station building.

"At this time, the fire department searched the site of the fall in the Copper Basin. This was utilized as a thermal camera drone. Searches failed and were discontinued at night" - reported on social media.
On Saturday morning, mountain rescuers with 3 survivors drove from Lomnica to Łomnicka Pass, where they continued their journey by chairlift to Tatra Lomnica.

The Vrtunk Air crew Zachranna Zdravotna Sluzba (VZZS) from Poprad was asked to cooperate in the search for Polka. During a reconnaissance flight in Bachledowa Szczyrbin, a woman's body was found, unfortunately without life signs.
"The remains of a 32-year-old was transported to Old Dragon. The Mountain Rescue Service offers the most sincere condolences to the household and survivors" - was given in the release.
