SuperSaturday of Polish Policy: KO and PiS Conventions

These are the last specified large events of the 2 biggest parties before announcing presidential candidates.

Migration strategy prepared

Both Donald Tusk and Jarosław Kaczyński had their hands full last Saturday. In addition to the conventional exchange of punches, the announcements that could affect the political situation in the country were not lacking. The events of both parties were attended by activists and supporters from all over Poland.

– It's about mobilization and a strong hit on a political rival. We couldn't let go. This is how it works – you could hear from supporters of the Donald Tusk party.

The PO convention was held in the large sports hall OSiR in Warsaw Bemów. Just a fewer twelve minutes before the start of the event, the parking lots were filled. Among the party's private activists and supporters were politicians from the front pages of the newspapers – ministers, MPs and MEPs. There was a minute for handshakes, selfie or fast interview.

Donald Tusk gave the first and most crucial speech. The Prime Minister presented at the convention a migration strategy "Regain control, guarantee security".

– The state must regain 100% control of who comes to Poland – it passed during the KO convention. According to Donald Tusk, the migration strategy is already prepared and written. The Prime Minister stressed that Poland will not respect or implement any EU ideas if it is certain that they agree with our security.

– 1 component of the migration strategy will be the temporary territorial suspension of the right to asylum. I will request designation in Europe for this decision," he said.

– It is up to people who want to work honestly in Poland, pay taxes, integrate into Polish society, learn at a real university. And these are people who then deserve respect, respect," stressed the head of the government.

Donald Tusk cited the example of Germany, which for years – in his opinion – ignored the integration aspect of its migration policy. He besides referred to the situation on the Polish border with Belarus. "There is no more humanitarian policy, understood as preventing misfortune or death on the Polish-Belarus border, how to effectively defend this border," he stressed. As he recalled, only in 2024 2 people died at the border, in 2023 – 18.

Rafał Trzaskowski, Radek Sikorski and Barbara Nowacka besides spoke in Warsaw. Tomasz Lis noted on X: “Tusk, Trzaskowski, Sikorski – KO has 3 frontmen at European and global level (...)”. Radosław Sikorski hit president Andrzej Duda in his speech. The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs spoke, among others, about correcting irregularities in granting visas that occurred during the regulation of Law and Justice. – What I am saying is to be achieved, but on 1 condition: that Donald Tusk's government will not be constantly put in the spokes. He vetoed, maliciously sent Mrs. Przyłębska to the alleged tribunal that he would not block the appointment of Polish ambassadors – Sikorski emphasized. Jarosław Kaczyński besides got in. Hungary sometimes sounds like Putin's supporters today. Mr President, do you inactive want Budapest in Warsaw? – asked the president of PiS.

Zbigniew Ziobro did not arrive

“Poland has faced a challenge that has not been present since 1989,” said Jarosław Kaczyński, beginning the legislature of Law and Justice in Przysdrusz (Mazowieckie). Originally, the convention was announced at the end of September, but the hard situation in the country related to the flood forced the group authorities to change the date of the meeting. The event, organized under the motto “Always Poland”, began with the singing of Mazurek Dąbrowski. legislature began with an hr hold – 1 could get the impression that it was waiting until the civilian Coalition Convention was concluded, due to the fact that both parties were trying to overshadow their political competitor with their events and narratives. 2 speeches were planned – Jarosław Kaczyński and Mateusz Morawiecki. There was no head of the Sovereign Poland Zbigniew Ziobry.

– We are the elite of our organization and, consequently, the elite of the nation," said Jarosław Kaczyński, who explained what is crucial for the largest opposition environment today: "We must start the process of consolidation, first of all the interior one. Hence today's Political Council is to bring about a complete consolidation of us and Sovereign Poland. We face extraordinary, very different challenges. Poland stands before them, and we are the only force that has the chance to defend Poland from all this," he said.

The merger of the Law and Government of Poland has caused quite a few opposition among right-wing politicians, but, as the Head of Law and Justice stressed, "in politics 1 must be able to decision on to the agenda." – (...) In politics 1 must have a good but short memory – added Jarosław Kaczyński. In the end, PiS joined forces with Sovereign Poland. The declaration was signed by Patryk Jaka and Jarosław Kaczyński.

Mateusz Morawiecki: The last lights out

“One year after the election, I am only curious in 2 words: the future and the victory”, said Mateusz Morawiecki. His speech was preceded by a organization movie entitled “We Will Defeat Evil”. Morawiecki recalled that there are 3 challenges facing PiS: “We request to get out of the comfort zone; we know it will be difficult. We request to get dressed up, look for fresh solutions. Secondly, we request to make a fast transition to a year ago. To be victorious and not to succumb is to win (...). Third: we gotta rise the wind of change, we cannot wait passively for the key of black swans. If anyone doesn't believe that, there's nothing left but to go home. But the last 1 will extinguish the light, due to the fact that the current behind Tusk is getting more expensive.”

The plan for the PiS legislature was tense. Joining the Law of Sovereign Poland Zbigniew Ziobry, as well as the political council's appointment of representatives to fresh organization bodies, including the Executive Committee, lasted long hours. Mariusz Błaszczak headed the fresh Executive Committee, and the actions of Przemysław Czarnek and young generation media activists, including Piotr Miłowański, Andrzej Śliwka, Michał Moskal, Bartosz Kownacki and controversial MP Dariusz Matecki, are becoming increasingly advanced in the organization hierarchy.
