The survey of east Europe at the University of Warsaw in cooperation with Czech partners and the Centre for east Studies (OSW) organised another yearly gathering of the Polish-Czech Analytical Platform on 23-24 April in Katowice. The meeting, which took place at the guest thresholds of the Silesian Office of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Katowice, was attended by, among others, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Břetislav Danēk, manager Jan Malicki (SEW UW) and experts of Polish and Czech think-tanks. They discussed transatlantic cooperation, Polish and Czech strategies for supporting Ukraine, as well as challenges of bilateral and regional cooperation. Prior to the gathering there was besides a Polish-Czech debate on Central European cooperation within the framework of the European economical legislature in Katowice, which was attended by participants of the Platform gathering – among others, deputy manager of the SEW University Dr. Adam Eberhardt and session moderator Dr. Mateusz Gniazdowski.

It was the 4th yearly gathering of the Polish-Czech Analytical Platform, organized by the SEW University, after meetings in Cieszyn (27-29.04.2023), in the Consulate General of Poland in Ostrava (14-15.12.2023) and in the Silesian Office of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Katowice (9.05.2024). The beginnings of the format reactivated by SEW UW date back to the conference on the experiences of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council held in Warsaw in 2009. The task of yearly meetings was then initiated by the Polish Institute of global Affairs (PISA), the Center for east Studies (OSW), the Institute of global Relations in Prague (ÚMV), the global Polytological Institute of the University of Masaryka in Brno (IIPS) and the Association for global Affairs in Prague (AMO). Meetings of the Platform are held under the patronage and with the participation of representatives of both Polish-Czech Forum Program Councils at the Ministry of abroad Affairs of Poland and the Czech Republic.
