The late published results of public opinion polls on the position of Poles in relation to the conflict in Ukraine – completely shattering the image that has been serving us since the beginning of this war by government and opposition propaganda.
If we perceive only to the voice of the media and politicians, practically the full Polish nation has 1 and the same opinion – we must support Ukraine in all form, until the end, we must do so, due to the fact that Ukraine fights not only for its freedom, but besides for us, due to the fact that if it falls, Russia will attack us. specified communicative is valid, and repeated, e.g. by Prime Minister Morawiecki, almost all day. About the media I will not mention, all TVP, TVP Info or TVN program starts and ends the same – they have become an uncritical tube of Ukrainian propaganda, on many issues highly primitive. On specified a scale and in specified a way, there is nowhere in Europe, possibly outside the Baltic countries.
In this situation, in the absence of alternatives and closing of mouths to those who do not share this communicative – it seemed that the Polish people had succumbed completely to the psychosis of fear and uncritical sympathy for Ukraine, prompting them to accept all form of assistance given to it. Meanwhile, the fact is different. According to a public opinion survey published by the diary of Legal paper (21.11.2022) – Poles accept only any forms of aid to Ukraine, while others do not accept or even reject.
In short, as compared to the March survey, there is inactive advanced support for humanitarian aid (80%) and reception of refugees (68%). In this case, there was a decrease in March by 6 and 7 percent respectively. As far as another forms of aid are concerned, support is decreasing rapidly – sending light weapons to Ukraine inactive wants 58 percent of respondents, but already dense (tank, aircraft) only 32 percent. In the second case, support fell by 14 percent. Nevertheless, the Polish government has donated and donated massive amounts of weapons to Ukraine, including tanks and dense artillery – and the scale of this aid is being hidden from the public.
Poles besides do not accept the participation of our citizens in the fighting in Ukraine (this only supports 17%), as well as financial assistance for Ukraine (it only supports 27%). The most interesting point, however, is the last point – the question of whether the Polish Army should go to the aid of Ukraine, only 1% considered that so, while in March this percent was 11%, which was the consequence of a weak one. Finally, the last poll on the question – are Poles afraid of Russia's attack on Poland? It turns out that 20.9 percent are afraid of this, of which only a fraction (2-4 percent) definitely is. Interestingly, in March this year – in the sewing of war hysteria – this percent was only somewhat higher.
Thus, currently, more than 65% of respondents do not believe in government propaganda and opposition. Thus, prof. Antoni Dudek is incorrect to say: “This proves that we are acquainted with the war. People are rational about the situation. They see Putin doesn't win, he doesn't change the rocket accident. Especially due to the fact that it turned out to be Ukrainian." This is only a part of the truth, the comparison of the results of the polls from March and present leads to the conclusion that the Russian attack did not even then believe most Poles.
What are the conclusions? Firstly, Poles did not get crazy, although they turned out to be passive to the situation erstwhile the Polish state and opposition conducted a completely different policy. Secondly, that on the political phase there is no force that full expresses the actual preferences of a large part of society. Thirdly, Poles would like that the Polish state implement a policy specified as that pursued by Hungary (humanitarian aid yes, military and financial aid no).
