

We asked Poles about their feelings about Donald Trump's actions towards Europe. It turns out that most Poles fear the outbreak of trade war between the US and Europe.

55.3 percent of respondents responded positively to the question "Are you afraid that Donald Trump's actions will origin a trade war with Europe and affect the condition of the Polish economy?". The worsening of the economical situation of Poland is not afraid of 24.2% of Poles, and 20.6% have no opinion on this.
Interestingly, various groups of Poles are mostly compatible. Looking at the education of the people asked, the most skeptical are those with primary and secondary education, with nearly 62% of respondents responding to this. The least middle-educated people are afraid about the outbreak of the trade war — in this case we are talking about 53.1 percent of affirmative responses.
However, the top differences be between middle-sized and large cities. While the deterioration of the state of the Polish economy is feared by 47.8% of the population of cities with a population exceeding 500 000 inhabitants, in cities with a population of 200-499 000, this ratio is as much as 61.2%.
Surprisingly, the distribution of results by sex is almost equal. Trade wars are feared by 55.2 percent women and 55.3 percent men. However, it is worth noting that there are much more indecisive among women — 24.1% to 16.5%.
The survey was carried out on 10.02-11.02.2025 by the agency SW investigation by an online interview (CAWI — Computer-Assisted Web Interview) on the SW Panel online panel. As part of the study, 807 surveys were conducted with a nationwide adult sample. Quota selection was applied — the example was typical of the combined distribution of the gender, age and size class of the place of residence.
