Today I went with Grandma 💖😘 Rakowicki Cemetery. The weather went very well! Without rain, nor snow, solar and poUp to 12 degrees.
It is the oldest, overpriced cemetery in Kraków, formerly called the City Cemetery. Founded in 1803. It covers an area of about 35 ha.. In 1807, a well was built, and in 1812 a grand cross was founded from public contributions.
The cemetery was enlarged respective times.
On 6 June 1856 the fresh chapel was approved, but it was not until 1861–1862 that the chapel of the Resurrection of the Lord (the foundation of Anna and Louis Helcl) was erected at the central point of the cemetery, on the site of the then existing wooden one.
In 1976, it was entered in the registry of Monuments.
