Half a century after the fall of Saigon – a war of miscalculations

On 30 April 1975, North Vietnam troops occupied Saigon sealing the fall of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam). Over 2 decades of conflict on the Indochina Peninsula is over. She won the thought of unified Vietnam, which was yet unified in 1976. The planet has held its breath. The United States seemed to have suffered defeat in the conflict with communism and were in the defensive. Vietnam began a fresh chapter in its history. Today, it is 1 of the leading Asian economies and besides 1 of the most crucial US partners in the region.
