Peace, Trump and EU accession. Gallup's fresh poll shows Ukrainian moods

The survey was conducted on a group of 1000 people aged at least 15 years, surviving in Ukraine. Due to deficiency of access, the poll did not cover areas occupied by Russia, inhabited by about 10% of the Ukrainian population.

Peace or another fight?

70% of the Ukrainians surveyed want the peace agreement to be negotiated as shortly as possible.

Only about a 4th of the respondents expressed support for continuing the fight against Russia until the triumph was achieved. This is simply a clear decrease compared to 2022, erstwhile 75 percent of respondents had a akin sentence.

At the same time, only 25 percent of those surveyed believe that peace can be sustained over the next year, while 70 percent consider specified a script unlikely.

Approach to Trump

Since 2022, the number of people positively assessing US leadership has decreased importantly – from about 65 percent to just 16 percent, with this trend beginning even before Donald Trump took office.

At the same time, the percent of well-assessers in Germany increased to 63 percent.

Membership in the EU and NATO

The Ukrainians' optimism about the chances of their country joining NATO and the EU has besides fallen. Currently, about a 3rd of respondents believe Ukraine will enter NATO in the next 10 years, 25 percent think it will take longer, and 1 3rd think it will never happen.

More than half of Ukrainians (52%) believe that their country will join the European Union in the next 10 years. However, this optimism is lower than in 2022, erstwhile 73% of respondents expressed this opinion.
