“Feast Without Borders – Let’s Share Love” – this was the motto of the several-hour gathering which AVSI Poland organised for the subjects of the Association of Persons with Disabilities “Tacy Sami” in Parma. Women and Ukrainian children, surviving in a hostel in Łowicz, have met with people with disabilities from Łowicz and the Łowicz district. This unique event was an chance to integrate and learn about Ukrainian Christmas traditions. The youngest prepared a short artistic performance with their favourite carols, after which they gave everyone their own hand-made and decorated gingerbread. Together with the wards of the associations they performed artistic and ceramic works. After a delicious dinner, on which the Ukrainian borscht and dumplings reigned, yeast stuffed with cabbage or meat buns and sweets was time for games and games adapted to the capabilities of people with disabilities.
The patronage of the event was the Łódź Region, in which Ukrainian refugees became an integral part of the region.
