The position of the closest individual in the relation and the ban on keeping dogs trapped – these are the most crucial laws passed during the 58th session of the Sejm. Members besides commemorated the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
The three-day session of the Sejm ended on Friday, May 29. Members passed a full of 12 laws. The most crucial of these are the law on the position of the closest individual in the relation and the common-life agreement and the introductory provisions to that law, which are to regulate the issue of informal unions. Those surviving in specified relationships will be able to enter into a civilian contract before the notary, which will give them the chance to form common rights and obligations in the area of property, household and individual affairs. Members besides voted on the amendment to the Animal Protection Act, which bans dogs from being trapped. The ban besides applies to cats. The vote took place in the presence of US Ambassador Thomas Rose and American diplomats from the embassy in Warsaw who visited the Sejm that day.

In addition to the formation of the USA, Members besides commemorated the 125th anniversary of the birth and 45th anniversary of the death of the blessed Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the first Act governing the functioning of youth local councils in Poland and the 90th anniversary of the deportation of the Polish population to Kazakhstan.
