– Taxes on combustion cars will enter into force! Taxes on combustion cars that were introduced as part of milestones resulting from the National Recovery Plan.
In short, in order to receive money from the National Recovery Plan, you request to realize circumstantial milestones and among these milestones there are besides taxes on combustion cars. This was first negotiated by the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and then unfortunately sustained by the government of Donald Tusk.
Donald Tusk's government adopted a revision of the KPO on 30 April 2024, which was sent to the European Commission to approve it. The European Commission approved this revision of KPO on 1 July. This is simply a paper containing details of the KPO's change. And what does it prove? Turns out the taxation on combustion cars, the taxation on registration of the combustion car, which is to enter into force in the 4th fourth of 2024, has been completely unchanged! On the another hand, the taxation on the possession of a combustion car, which is to enter into force in the first 4th of 2026, was called an “environmental charge”, which will apply to entrepreneurs.
Of course, the government, ministers announce a large success that there will be no tax. There will be no taxes. 1 was simply renamed and the another remained unchanged. And all this can simply be found in the authoritative papers available on the European Commission's website. The government besides announces success that alternatively of these taxes there will be subsidies for electrical cars. Of course, he forgets to add that there is no surcharge for utilized electrical cars, there is no rationale. It is simply an exit to import utilized electrical cars simply from the West.
Bartosz Bocheńczak:
– These are not the only issues in the National Recovery Plan concerning motor transport. It is worth noting that 1 of the very crucial milestones, namely E3G stones, has not changed. The stone, which imposes on Poland the introduction of regulations which will concern higher registration fees for combustion cars. These charges will depend on carbon dioxide emissions or various nitrogen oxides, which is expected to stimulate request for electrical cars, alleged clean cars. The fee is intended to advance low-carbon public transport in cities and agrarian areas. ...
