PKP Intercity carried 1.39 million passengers

During the June long weekend, from 3 to 7 June, the trains of PKP Intercity were travelling on 1.39 million passengers – the national carrier reported on Monday.

As stated by the company, the connections between Warsaw and Tricity, Krakow and Poznań enjoyed the top interest in erstwhile years.

In order to increase the availability of seats for passengers, PKP Intercity offered over 530 connections per day in the current schedule. Additionally, between 3 and 7 June, the carrier reinforced 378 trains, driving 750 additional wagons.

The strengthenings included mainly connections between the largest cities and routes leading to popular tourist destinations specified as Zakopane, Kołobrzeg or Hel.
