I must say to my friend Edward Wóltanski, a veteran of Fighting Solidarity, that he had long since perfectly defined the political class and the real goals of Sławomir Mentzen.
In general, my assessment of the phenomenon of the Confederacy is that it is simply a organization of very young people, very inexperienced, and that it is uncommon for people who are mature and equipped with the cognition essential to accomplish anything of value in a country. However, as Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski erstwhile pointed out, "youth is simply a condition from which it rapidly grows." And for this reason, at least any of the Confederate activists I had hoped that they would grow up with serious people capable of real service to the state and the nation. I have always been more afraid by the emphasizing by members of the Confederate about values specified as homeland, patriotism, family, religion and pragmatic, enterprising approach to life than by individualism and the attitude of indifference towards the weaker, strong impulse to a individual career. It is besides more comfortable for the authorities not to be harassed by an opposition MP than making decisions at their own political risk. However, I was hoping that, with age and experience, members of the Confederation would begin to grow out of these youthful afflictions and that they could be counted on as valuable patriots – statemen. The beer for which the man put up by the Confederate as a candidate in the presidential election went along with Trzaskowski and Sikorski has deprived me of any of these illusions.

When the pictures from Mentzen's feast arrived to me, in which he participated with the Vice-President of the Civic Platform and the Minister in the Tusk government, who paid tributes to Berlin before Germany in the Bundestag, the publically promising “slaughter of the pack” – I did not believe my eyes. I thought it was any kind of animation or movie from years ago. erstwhile I realized that the curiosium was happening now, I remembered the predictions of Edek Woltanski. And they were specified that at least a large part of the Confederacy were people capable of reasoning only with categories of self-interest. And that we can anticipate treachery from specified “turners” at the most unexpected and highly critical moment. Strictly as was the case with those who, at the behest of Kiszczak offering them joint governments, threw themselves on his neck in Magdalena and were drunk together with unspeakable joy.
There are moments in political life where 1 prominent, frequently spectacular, for many incomprehensible or shocking step exposes the real intentions of individual who has walked in the glory of authority or even a hero for many years. This was in 1989, erstwhile any of the people of Solidarity for the races joined the communist nomenclature, offering them cooptation. And with it, of course, all the benefits of it, consumed present by another generation of communist electors – well-wrought beneficiaries of systemic transformation. It's hard not to associate this painful experience with what Sławomir Mentzen has now done. And it's hard not to ask what he's playing, what he's after, what he's truly trying to do. However, the intentions of the Confederate candidate do not look noble. And 1 thing is more than certain – if God did not win Trzaskowski in the presidential election, Sławomir Mentzen would be rightly pointed out as the main culprit of this misfortune.
